DRAFT Second 10-year Maintenance Plan for the Partial Logan County, OH Annual Lead Maintenance Area
The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (Ohio EPA) is soliciting comments on the draft of Ohio’s Second 10-Year Maintenance Plan for the 2008 annual lead National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS) for the partial Logan County maintenance area. On October 29, 2013, Ohio EPA requested U.S. EPA redesignate the partial Logan County, OH area from nonattainment to attainment and included Ohio’s 10-year maintenance plan. U.S. EPA approved this request and the maintenance plan on July 28, 2014 (79 FR 43655) with an effective date of September 26, 2014. Ohio’s initial redesignation and maintenance plan was based on the permanent and enforceable cessation of operations at the Daido facility in June 2009. Ohio EPA is now required to submit a second maintenance plan SIP in accordance with CAA section 175A(b) that ensures Ohio can maintain the 2008 lead standard in this area for at least 20 years from the effective date of the first maintenance plan.

Ohio EPA will be accepting comments on the draft of Ohio’s State Implementation Maintenance Plan for the 2008 lead NAAQS in the partial Cuyahoga maintenance area through November 23, 2026.
