Pickaway and Fairfield Counties Water Quality Management Plan (208 Plan)
Ohio EPA has updated the State Water Quality Management Plan (208 Plan), as required by Sections 303 and 208 of the Clean Water Act. This plan describes and promotes efficient, comprehensive programs for controlling water pollution from both point and nonpoint sources within a defined geographic area. The state of Ohio prepares and maintains the 208 Plan for the 64 counties where Areawide Councils of Governments, designated by the governor, do not serve as the lead planning agencies.
The proposed updates involve revisions to the wastewater planning appendices for Pickaway and Fairfield counties. The changes include updates to two existing facility planning areas (FPAs), the creation of eight new FPAs, and updates to the wastewater management agency (MA) designations and the prescriptions for wastewater treatment options (Prescriptions). All updates will be reflected in Appendix 3-1 – Management Agencies and Prescriptions for Sewage Collection and Treatment, and Appendix 3-2 – Maps of Facility Planning Areas and other features associated with Prescriptions for Sewage Collection and Treatment.
The public comment period will run until 5 p.m. on Oct. 14, 2026.
