Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Water Quality Certification Application

What

The Brent Spence Corridor Project is a project to improve the eight-mile portion of the I-71/75 interstate corridor between Kentucky and Ohio. Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is a partner in this project.

Why

Anyone who wishes to discharge dredged or fill material into the waters of the U.S., regardless of whether on private or public property, is required to obtain a Section 401 Water Quality Certification (WQC) from Ohio EPA. ODOT has applied for a WQC.

Impacts

Construction activities during a portion of the corridor project will create temporary impacts which will reduce the water quality of the Ohio River, including accessing the river to lay the foundations for new piers and repair existing piers.
