We will share information, answer questions, and take comments on the record.

What

Medina County Park District applied for a Clean Water Act Section 401 Water Quality Certification (WQC) for a project to construct an asphalt access road for maintenance of an existing sanitary line within the Sharon Nature Preserve. The project is located at State Road, Sharon Center, OH, 44274. Discharges from the activity, if approved, would result in degradation to, or lowering of, the water quality of the Tuscarawas River.

Why

Anyone who wishes to discharge dredged or fill material into the waters of the U.S., regardless of whether on private or public property, is required to obtain a WQC from Ohio EPA.

Ohio EPA will review the application, and decide whether to grant or deny the certification.
