For Two Underground Injection Wells

We will share information, answer questions, and take comments.

Date: March 27, 2025

Time: 6pm

Place: Coshocton County Commissioners, Community Room, 637 Chestnut St., Coshocton, OH 43812

What:

Buckeye Brine, LLC has submitted applications to renew its operating permits for two Class I non-hazardous liquid waste injection wells, known as Adams #1 and Adams #3 at the company’s 23986 Airport Road, Coshocton, facility.

Why:

Injection well permits must be renewed every five years to continue operations. The applications are being reviewed by Ohio EPA.

Other Information:

The current operating permits allow the company to inject up to 12.7 million gallons of non-hazardous liquid waste each month into a rock layer 5,300 feet underground. These permit applications are for the two existing wells at the facility. If/when the new well is drilled, the company will have to apply for a separate operating permit before the it can begin using the new well.
